Saturday 13th November, 11am-5pm - Wines from Portugal
I have loved Portuguese wine for many years now. The country is a land of contrasts from the undulating plains of Alentejo in the south through the granite mountains of the Dão, from the picturesque Douruo Valley to the pleasant green land of Vinho Verde to the north. Portugal has everything a winemaker could want.
The wines featured today come from Sogrape, an operation that firmly believes in the country's many fascinating indigenous grape varieties. The range open to taste will include the multi award wininng Callabriga regional range and should show exactly why Portugal could well be the next 'big thing' in wine.
Saturday 4th December, 11am - 5pm - Christmas Tasting
Our fifth annual, pre-Christmas Open Day featuring the usual large variety of wines to taste as well as the odd dessert wine and spirit. There will be lots of Christmas gift ideas on show along with all the Christmas offers.

Saturday 7th November, 2009 ,11-5pm Wines of Northern Italy
I have recently visited the stunning regions of Piemonte and the Veneto in Northern Italy and on this brief yet fascinating trip I met many passionate and high quality winemakers. Naturally I had to taste my way through a large range of different styles of wine (it’s a tough job, I know) and as a result I have selected some lovely wines that I hope will provide an interesting vinous shapshot of both areas. The list of wines open to taste will include Prosecco, Gavi di Gavi, Barbera, Valpolicella, Barolo and Amarone plus many more.
Thursday 19th November – Surrey Style
Venue: Guildford Cathedral Refectory, 6-9pm.
I will be exhibiting at this Christmas event that brings together hand-picked local businesses to help you with all your festive needs. It will be a relaxed, informal evening of fashion, food, gifts and glamour.

Saturday 27th June, 2009 – Wines from South Africa
Saturday 26th September, 2009 – Southern French wine
Saturday 28th March - Wines of Southern Italy
I really like Southern Italian wines and hopefully this selection will provide a fitting start to the Spring programme. We will be showing some of the indigenous varieties from Puglia, Abruzzo and Campania. Generally the wines are big, bold and flavoursome and tend to provide some of the best value not only in Italy but from across Europe. I’ll be praying for good weather to match these warm, sunny wines.
Saturday 25th April - Australia & New Zealand
Being ANZAC day I thought only Antipodean wines would do for this weekend. Along with South Africa, these two countries are amongst the very few that have not been affected too harshly by the dramatic currency fluctuations of the past twelve months. Therefore, they are increasingly providing not only quality but better value for money. We will have on taste the usual suspects of excellent Sauvignon Blanc and Shiraz, but also some new wines and varieties that demonstrate the innovation that these two countries can consistently produce.
Saturday 16th May - Regional Spain
I have recently selected the wines to taste on this day and I hope to show the great diversity that comes from modern Spanish wine. We will have a selection from perhaps less well known regions such as Almansa, La Mancha, Rias Biaxas, Priorat and Valdepeñas as well as Rioja of course.

Saturday 18th October , 11-5pm – Lebanese Fine Wines
Lucy Khoneizer has recently returned from the Lebanon and she has brought with her to the UK two exclusive wineries, each producing very different styles of wine. The first is Domaines des Tourelles which was founded in 1868 and is the oldest commercial vineyard in Lebanon and bases its long tradition of wine making on French techniques. The second range comes from Clos de Cana which is a much newer vineyard only producing wine since 2001. This vineyard, located in the mountains, was set up in part to encourage villagers to return to the village they had been chased from during the 15yr civil war, providing them with a livelihood. It should be a fascinating tasting.
Saturday 22nd November, 11-5pm – Swiss Fine Wines
Expert Ian Steel will be on hand to guide us through what for many will be a new experience. In his words “If we had £1 for everybody who said “I didn’t know Switzerland made wine” or “Switzerland is too cold to make wine” we would be very rich! In fact the Swiss make twice as much wine as New Zealand, but at the last count only export 2% of the wine produced.” So if you would like to know your Fendant’s from your Johannesburg’s this is going to be a real education.
Saturday 6th December, 10-6pm – Grand Open Day
Our third annual, pre-Christmas, Open Day tasting. As usual we will have a large and varied selection of excellent wines, fizz and the odd Cognac & Whisky to taste from across the range. There will all manner of suitable things for Christmas, plus many gift ideas, and even extra discounts on the day too. There will be more details nearer the time, but be sure to pencil the date in your dairy.
